Job Description:
Data is at the core of many business decisions nowadays. The BI Analyst is responsible for helping different departments leverage available data, and identify opportunities for improvement, as well as recognize potential issues. Their work is aimed towards improving efficiency, cost avoidance and driving profits for the business.
Power BI has lately been implemented as BI & data visualization tool. The BI Analyst will be
responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining insightful Power BI dashboards and reports that provide key stakeholders with valuable business intelligence. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of delivering high-quality Power BI solutions, a deep understanding of data visualization best practices, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. As second pillar of the job the BI Analyst needs to find potential risks/opportunities based on the data output + other business controlling activities will be part of the job.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and design Power BI dashboards and reports to meet business requirements.
- Collaborate with stakeholders from other departments to gather and understand reporting requirements.
- Transform raw data into meaningful visualizations, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and adherence to data governance standards – next to that optimize and streamline data models for enhances performance and efficiency.
- Implement and maintain data security and access controls within Power BI.
- Stay current with industry trends and emerging Power BI features to continuously improve reporting capabilities.
- Provide training and support to end-users to maximize the value of Power BI within the organization and troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Power BI reports and
dashboards. - Analyse the data output and find potential risks/opportunities and communicate those with the relevant stakeholders to respectively reduce or exploit them.
- Business controlling activities: e.g., Monthly reporting (Logistics / Procurement / Sales …) / Closing activities / Margin analyses / …
- Ad hoc business /data analysis and reporting depending on requests from the organization (A-Z)
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree (Finance, Business & Management);
- Proven experience as a Power BI Developer and strong proficiency with DAX and M query language.
- Solid understanding of data modeling and data warehousing concepts – experience with SQL and other data manipulation tools can be considered as a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to break-down problems into clear causes, and from there define proper measures and solutions.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention detail; Ability to multitask and prioritize work.
- Critical thinking and change champion – ability to see problems, identify solutions and work with other functional groups to implement measures.
- Be able to deliver results in high pressure environment, connected with time management skills (manage local and corporate deadlines).
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Proficient in MS Office 365 applications (Excel, Powerpoint) – knowledge of SAP and/or MS Dynamics is an asset
